Our Hearts

Earlier this year, we were blessed to go on a mission trip to Maai Mahiu, Kenya to volunteer at Naomi’s Village, a children’s home. During our stay, we were given the opportunity to spend a day at Lunga Lunga, Kenya’s largest slum. This was truly a life changing experience, as God opened our eyes to a world very unfamiliar to ours. There, the reality is that our basic necessities (food, clean water and shelter) are not a guarantee.

On that visit to Lunga Lunga, we truly began to understand the severity of Kenya's poverty cycle and just how important education is to bring hope to this community. We were able to spend some time with Pastor Geoffrey Mutunga, the founder of Wells of Joy Ministries. It was very evident in his testimony that he had a heart for the people of Lunga Lunga and a desire to give them hope in Christ despite living in such destitution.

Visiting Lunga Lunga showed us the importance of spreading awareness of such living conditions and ways we can get involved. Our team hopes that this fundraiser will not only give textbooks to the kids at Brilliant Sharpening Community Center but also raise awareness of the vision of Wells of Joy Ministry. We hope you will join forces with us in order to bring the students hope for their future and showing them that God is making all things new.
